01  /  Why MOVE

A premium fitness brand that's becoming a real software company.

MOVE delivers a premium, results-driven personal-training experience across 20+ studios — and increasingly, we run it on systems we build ourselves. Our Technology team is taking the whole platform in-house: the software that powers our studios, serves our clients, and lets us scale. Join now and you shape it from the ground floor.

Real ownership

You're a founding engineer on a platform used every day across a growing regional brand — not a maintainer of someone else's legacy.

Direct line to the CTO

A small, senior team with no layers between you and impact. Decisions are made with you, not handed to you.

Your reward grows with us

Your fee increases for every new MOVE branch that opens. As the network grows, so does your reward — it's built into the terms.

02  /  How we work

Modern, pragmatic engineering.

01

Ship in sensible phases

Pragmatism about build vs. buy, and a bias for shipping meaningful milestones — not big-bang rewrites.

02

AI-native by default

We use Claude Code heavily. You move fast with modern AI tooling — without cutting corners on quality.

03

Reliability across 20+ studios

We don't just write features — we keep them running. Deployment, monitoring, and calm operations matter here.

04

Data integrity is non-negotiable

Every record stays clean, complete, and exportable. "No record left behind" is the standard, especially through migrations.

05

Build from first principles

We're replacing third-party tools with systems we own. You get to design how MOVE's technology works for years to come.

06

Full-time, remote or hybrid

Full-time contract-for-service engagements, open to applicants based in Malaysia — a 4-month probation, then a 12-month contract, with real career progression.

03  /  Open roles

Three founding roles on the Technology team.

All three are full-time, contract-for-service engagements reporting to the Chief Technology Officer — remote or hybrid, and open to applicants based in Malaysia. A 4-month probation, then a 12-month contract, with genuine career progression discussed along the way. Your fee also grows by RM250 for every new MOVE branch that opens. Tap a role to see the full detail.

The role

We're building our own in-house operating platform — the software that runs our studios and serves our clients — and we're looking for a founding engineer to lead the build. You'll own the core product end to end, working directly with our CTO, with an outsized say in how MOVE's technology is designed for years to come.

What you'll do
  • Design, build, and run our core operating platform — and lead the shift of our systems fully in-house.
  • Own reliability across 20+ studios: deployment, monitoring, keeping everything running.
  • Turn real operational needs into shipped, well-crafted features.
  • Set the engineering standards — code quality, testing, release process — as the team grows around you.
  • Work hands-on with modern AI tooling to move fast without cutting corners.
What we're looking for
  • A strong full-stack engineer who has shipped and operated production web apps end to end.
  • Comfortable owning reliability — not just writing features, but keeping them running.
  • Experience migrating or rebuilding a live system without losing data or breaking users.
  • Pragmatism about build vs. buy, and a bias for shipping in phases.
  • Genuine comfort working alongside AI tooling (we use Claude Code heavily).
Nice to have
  • Experience building customer-relationship management (CRM), sales-pipeline, or marketing-automation systems.
  • Multi-country or multi-currency product experience.
  • A founding-engineer or early-stage background.
Your first 90 days
  • Get to grips with the current stack (our in-house systems and what GoHighLevel does today) and how data flows between them.
  • Publish a phased plan to move off GoHighLevel and consolidate our customer data, with the CTO and clear data-continuity checkpoints.
  • Ship one meaningful improvement or migration milestone to production.

The role

As MOVE brings its platform in-house, someone needs to own the move itself — getting our data and workflows out of third-party tools and into systems we own. You'll make sure nothing is lost, nothing breaks, and every fact lives in one trustworthy place.

What you'll do
  • Own our data migrations end to end: extract, map, validate, and load records with solid reconciliation.
  • Rebuild the automations our business relies on — follow-ups, reminders, workflow triggers — inside our own platform.
  • Build the connections between our systems so information is entered once and flows everywhere it's needed.
  • Protect the accuracy of our marketing and sales data through every migration.
  • Instrument everything with monitoring so issues surface early, not after the fact.
What we're looking for
  • Strong data-migration and integration engineering: data pipelines (extract, transform, load), application interfaces (APIs), data mapping and reconciliation.
  • Experience building or replacing automations and event-driven workflow logic.
  • Real rigor about data integrity — you treat "no record left behind" as the standard.
  • Someone who works well independently and alongside AI tooling.
Nice to have
  • Hands-on experience with GoHighLevel or similar customer-relationship management (CRM) / marketing platforms.
  • Familiarity with BigQuery / Dataform or comparable data tooling.
  • Full-stack ability, with an interest in growing into product engineering.
Your first 90 days
  • Produce a complete map of what GoHighLevel holds and does today, and where each piece will live in-house.
  • Migrate one domain's data end-to-end with a passing reconciliation — a proof pattern for the rest.
  • Rebuild one high-value GoHighLevel automation inside our own platform.

The role

Our studios depend on our systems every day — and this role makes sure those systems just work. You'll be the friendly, capable first point of contact for 20+ studios, keeping things running, solving problems quickly, and freeing our engineers to build. Great for someone who loves helping people and bringing order to the day-to-day.

What you'll do
  • Be the first line of support and incident response for our studios and head office — triaging and resolving issues quickly.
  • Manage user access and accounts across MOVE's systems.
  • Handle day-to-day system administration, workflow configuration, and routine data hygiene.
  • Build and maintain simple guides and a knowledge base so common questions answer themselves.
  • Spot recurring problems and feed them back to engineering so they get fixed for good.
What we're looking for
  • A solid technical-support or IT-operations background — and genuine care for the people you help.
  • Well-organized, with clear written communication.
  • Comfortable with web applications, basic data hygiene, and simple admin and configuration.
Nice to have
  • Experience in fitness, studios, retail, or other multi-branch environments.
  • Basic scripting or SQL to run your own quick checks.
  • Additional languages (e.g. Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin).
Your first 90 days
  • Stand up a single support intake channel and a starter knowledge base.
  • Take over the interrupt queue currently landing on the CTO and Head of Data, and measurably reduce it.
  • Produce a top-10 list of recurring issues to feed the engineering backlog.

04  /  Process

How hiring works.

We keep it simple and human. We read every application, and we reply to shortlisted candidates.

STEP 01

Apply

Submit the form below with your CV and anything that shows your work — GitHub, a portfolio, or a short note on something you've built.

STEP 02

We review

Every application is read by the team. We look for real ownership and craft, not just a keyword match.

STEP 03

Conversations

Shortlisted candidates meet the CTO and team — a practical, honest conversation about the work and the fit.

STEP 04

Values & culture

We share how we work and what we stand for, and ask you to spend time with a short set of materials on our culture and leadership. It's a two-way check that we're aligned on values, not just skills, before anyone commits.

STEP 05

Offer & start

We walk through the contract for service in detail — the terms, expectations, and the 4-month probation as your runway — then you're set to start.

Just starting out? Put your most recent project, freelance work, or studies.

Pick a role above and we'll show the 90-day goals you'd be planning against.

Aim for at least 40 characters.
We're not after a polished plan, and we'd never ask for free work — we just want to see how you think about the problem. Assumptions are welcome; there's no single right answer.
If you have none, just write “None”.
How we use your information

We collect the details and CV you submit here solely to assess your application for this role at MOVE. They're shared only with MOVE's hiring and Technology team, kept secure, and never sold or used for marketing. We retain applications for our recruitment process; you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing tos@moveprivatefitness.com. If your application progresses, we may verify the information you've provided (for example, your employment history and any references you agree to share). This is in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

We reply to shortlisted candidates.
06  /  FAQ

Good to know.

Is this employment or a contract?

All three roles are full-time and structured as a contract for service — an independent-contractor engagement, not an employment contract. The structure is a 4-month probation followed by a 12-month contract for service. Final terms are subject to legal review and a signed contract.

Can I work remotely? Who can apply?

All three roles are full-time and can be remote or hybrid. They're open to applicants based in Malaysia, and all report to the Chief Technology Officer.

Is there career progression?

Yes. Every role has genuine room to grow as MOVE's platform and team expand, and your path is discussed and shaped with you — these aren't fixed, dead-end seats. For the Technical Operations & Support Specialist role, that includes a clear route to Team Leader.

What does the "growth increment" mean?

Your monthly fee grows by RM250 for every new MOVE branch that opens, up to a cap that depends on the role. It ties your reward directly to the growth you help enable — as we open more branches, your fee rises with them.

What's the tech environment like?

We're bringing our platform in-house from third-party tools (including GoHighLevel), we ship in sensible phases, and we use modern AI tooling — Claude Code — heavily. You'll work directly with a small, senior team and have a real say in the architecture.

Can I apply for more than one role?

Yes — submit the form once per role, selecting the relevant role each time, so we can match you correctly. Tell us in the note if you're open to more than one.

Prefer to email instead of the form?

You're welcome to email your CV to tos@moveprivatefitness.com with the role title as the subject line. The form is just the fastest way to reach us.
